In this session, Murray Landis, a partner in our Corporate & Commercial Advisory Group, will explore recent ethical developments in legal practice and enable participants to recognise and resolve ethical issues.

Topic covered will include:

• when is legal advice unethical

• do you have a duty to represent a repugnant client

• common ethical issues including

  • lying during negotiations

  • turning a blind eye to a client's illegal conduct

  • talking to the client of another solicitor during a matter

• duties and confidentiality.
